A Little Bit About Me
Hello, my name is Nicholas Junker, and I am the new Social Sciences instructor at Larned High School. For the high school this year, I will be teaching the following courses: World Geography/Economics for freshman and sophomores, American History for juniors, and American Government for seniors. In the spring, I will also be the Head Coach of the girls softball team. I am very passionate about the social sciences, as I believe they play an integral role in a well-rounded education. It is our duty as citizens to train our young people to solve problems, think critically, and be good citizens. It is vital that our young people become education in the social sciences to be active participants in the community, state, and even world. It is our goal as staff at Larned High School to educate students to become 21st century ready to handle any challenges that the world may bring them in their bright futures they have ahead of them. I would like to thank the community of Larned for sharing their young people with myself and all of the staff at Larned High School, as we will prepare them for the world ahead.
I have come to Larned with my fiancée Kelsey Kort (7th English at Middle School,) by way of Belleville, KS. We both attended Bethany College and received our education degrees. Being from a small town, we both very much enjoy the hospitality we have been shown in the short months here in Larned. In my spare time I enjoy reading about politics, history, and economics. Also as I indicated before, I am huge athletics fan which is why I am very excited about the opportunity to coach softball. My fiancée and I have thoroughly enjoyed our short time here in Larned, and are very excited about becoming Larned Indians.
If at any time students/parents/guardians/community members need to contact me they may do so via email, and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
